New York Baby!

I have been back a little while now and remembered I hadn't blogged about New York yet! So I thought I would let anyone who wants to know how my trip to New York went in a three part blogseries :)

So the start, I may have thrown up on the plane, and a little on the boy sat next to me. Probably the most embarrassing moment of my life. The rest of the flight, once I had cleaned up a bit, was fine I slept and watched Frozen, "Do you want to build a snowman?". Channeling my Elsa daily.

We arrived at JFK and then took a coach ride to the hotel which was Marriott Courtyard Midtown East, although jet lagged at this point it was on to central part with my friends.

We walked around and it was such a beautiful place, like a massive secret garden that everyone knows about and agrees not to ruin. I loved seeing the joggers and the locations where films were made - definitely felt like Mila Kunis is "Friends with Benefits".

After a restless night, due to the constant buzz of the city, the next day was a scavenger hunt across the city going to Wall street, Little Italy, Lower east side, Chinatown and the area around ground zero. It was a fun day as we were put in random groups so was great to get to know different people, but dragging boys out of MacDonald's is not an easy task!

Me and my group! I am the girl in the middle!
It was really interesting to see the cultural difference between Little Italy and Chinatown, and we had an amazing Pizza in a cute restaurant. I found Wall Street initially intriguing but in reality it is just a corporate place of work! We didn't get to spend much time at ground Zero due to going the wrong way so I visited on another day to pay my respect to the area and the people who lost their lives - I will talk about this day more in another post. The lower east side was very different again feeling much more real and original, but for me I loved walking through the streets of SoHo and I may have bought a MAC coffee eye pencil that I will definitely be using in some tutorials soon!

The aim of the day was to find an object that represented an area and we chose a piece of graffiti from the border between Little Italy and Chinatown, I will pop a picture below.

I hope you enjoyed this first installment of my NY adventure!
